I am skeptical of most eco shampoo's because I have never found one that works. My hair always responds well at first and then gets so frickin gross within a few months. The only way to get my hair to look half respectable was to resort back to the traditional shampoo's that are full of chemicals. Enter Miessence Organic Shampoo. As part of the Go Green Get Fit Challenge I was given a sample by Ely Organics. I opted for the Lemon Myrtle Shampoo for normal to oily hair.
I didn't follow the instructions resulting in using more shampoo than required to get the lather I was used to. The instructions say to lather your scalp and then allow the water from the shower to rinse the shampoo through the rest of your hair. I tried to lather all of my hair. Following the correct technique I was able to use substantially less than I do of traditional shampoo. Lather at the scalp was good. Not like traditional shampoo because Miessence Shampoo doesn't contain SLS but there was still enough lather that it did a good job washing my hair fully. I stopped using conditioner for this trial to make sure I could see
the response my hair had to product. And you know what? My hair doesn't
miss it. My hair looks and feels like I have been using it. I also have not had to use very much product in my hair since I started using Miessence Shampoo. I am down to a little bit of hairspray to deal with the little hairs that are still growing back from breastfeeding.
Miessence Shampoo is more than your traditional shampoo but I feel like in the long run it will come out even. I am not having to use conditioner and using less product so I am saving money there.
What makes Miessence stand out from other eco products is that it is certified organic. In fact their products are certified to the organic food grade standard. There are no synthetics or chemical preservatives in Miessence products. Anything that is in there is there for a beneficial reason. This means no petroleum based fillers.

Thanks for the interesting review! I've used eco shampoo and conditioner in my hair, just not this one. I have Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner for my hair, definitely recommend it. Plus it smells wonderful!
